Reception opening times - Our summer reception hours are 8:30am - 7pm weekdays and 9am - 6pm weekends. Our winter reception hours are 8:30am - 5pm weekdays and 9am - 5pm weekends. There is a mobile number on our reception door for any after hours emergencies.
Wifi - Access the wifi using Big4Guest and enter the passcode on your map. In times of poor weather and high usage, access may be affected.
How many people can sleep in a Glamping tent? With the capacity to sleep between 4 to 6 people, our Glamping Tents are spacious enough to cater for the entire family. Including a Queen bed, bunk bed with two singles and comfy fold-out sofa bed.
What cooking facilities are in the glamping tents? Each tent has a kitchenette with a medium size fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle, coffee pod machine, cutlery and plates etc. There is a weber BBQ on each deck. You can access the outdoor or indoor camp kitchen next door at the Mountain Bike Base, which includes a pizza oven, BBQs, oven and cook tops.
Do the glamping tents have laundry facilities? No the tents do not have washing machines. You can access the coin operated laundry facilities next door in the Mountain Bike Base or the main laundry in BIG4 St Helens.
Laundry - The laundry is located behind the main amenities. Washing machines take 2 x $2 coins or 3 x $2 coins per 30 minute cycle. Dryers take 2 x $2 coins per 30 minute cycle. Washing powder, coin change and pegs are available from reception. Clothes lines are available adjacent to the laundry. There is a second smaller laundry in the MTB area.
Where is the Town of St Helens? St Helens, the largest township on the east coast, is 3hrs and 25min from Hobart and 2hrs and 10 mins from Launceston. It is on the far north east coast, north of Coles Bay, Bicheno and Scamander. It is a classic Tasmanian fishing town, a coastal holiday paradise, the gateway to the Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay, exciting mountain bike trails and one of the very best places to find freshly caught, succulent, east coast fish and seafood.
Where do I check-in for Glamping 148° Tasmania? Glamping 148° Tasmania is situated in a private fenced area at the rear of BIG4 St Helens Holiday Park and is accessible via the entrance of the Holiday Park. We will welcome you in reception and provide directions and key access to this private area.
TVs - All main TVs are smart TVs. Use your own streaming service logins. Reception has a range of DVD’s available for loan. Your TV needs to be on AV to work with the DVD player.
Cooling & Heating - The aircon remote is located on the wall or with the TV remotes. Please do not set the temperature below 18 degrees as this will freeze the system, taking hours to defrost. Modes - the snow flake is for cooling, and the sun is for heating.
Noise - We ask that you respect other guests and keep noise to a minimum between 9pm and 9am.
Visitors - are welcome, however please advise reception on arrival. Visitor parking is available outside the entrance.
